KLP signs global recording deal with EMI

After signing to a global publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing in 2013, Sydney based performer/DJ/songwriter KLP (real name Kristy Lee Peters) has signed an international deal with EMI Music.

2014 has been a busy year for KLP, playing at some of Australia’s biggest festivals including Splendour in The Grass, SXSW and BIGSOUND as well as being tagged by inthemix as one of the 10 Local Producers to Watch in 2014. Also crowned by Triple j as the Unearthed Field Day Winner and selected to play at the EMC Spotlight, KLP has recently taken over as Triple j’s House Party Radio Host and DJ.

In addition to this, KLP has also been cementing her position as one of electronic music's most in demand writers having achieved #1's on both Hype Machine and the Japanese Electronic Chart and collaborations with artists such as What So Not, Milo & Otis, Zimmer, Sable, Slumberjack, Just a Gent, M-Phazes and more.

With showcases at Bigsound, CMJ and Culture Collide (San Fran and LA) on the horizon, and a national single tour around the corner, things are unlikely to slow down for this wearer of many hats as we head towards 2015.

Jesse Flavell from Sum Management speaks of the signing with EMI: 'It was clear from early discussions that EMI understood the music and were as excited as we are about where we could take this. Those who only know KLP as a DJ will be blown away by the depth of her talent. We look forward to working with Scott, John, Franco and the rest of the team to get things cracking!'
