Lime Cordiale break the ARIA Chart drought with new album ‘Enough of the Sweet Talk’

Thanks to UMP artists Lime Cordiale, the 10-month long ARIA Chart drought is over!

Lime Cordiale are an Australian pop-rock group made up of brothers Oli and Louis Leimbach. With 'Enough of the Sweet Talk', the Leimbach brothers blast to No. 1 on the latest tally, published Friday, Aug 2, ending a painfully dry spell for homegrown Australian artists.

The last Australian act to reign over the ARIA Chart was UMP’s very own Troye Sivan with 'Something to Give Each Other', in October 2023, 10 months ago.

After first signing to legendary concert promotor Michael Chugg in 2013, Lime Cordiale’s debut album 'Permanent Vacation' hit the #1 spot on the ARIA albums chart upon release and was nominated for 8 ARIA Awards.

UMP signed the pair in 2018 and their story was a slow-burner before it became a page-turner. Signing with UMP saw a significant upward trajectory in their success. As TMN explained in a 2018 analysis, streams and followers climbed, ticket sales heated up, and “listeners were bouncing from other hot Aussie acts, all of it fuelled by Spotify, YouTube and Apple’s discovery algorithms.”

The new number one album is a headrush of enchanting indie-pop and a transformative emotional journey; 'Enough of the Sweet Talk' is a tour de force that showcases how much Lime Cordiale continue to remain tied to their roots and evolve exponentially.

“At first we envisioned our next album like a French menu - complete with entrees, mains, and desserts, every song referencing food or drink,” Louis laughs. Some of those references made it into the final blend, but the emotional resonance ran far deeper than the culinary. “The final result details the course of a relationship rather than a meal”, he adds.

Lime Cordiale are two-time ARIA award winners who have amassed over 500 million streams on Spotify, 40 million on Apple Music, and YouTube views exceeding 30 million. Their infectious performances and genuine, generous interactions with their fans have made them one of Australia’s most in-demand acts, playing to wildly enthusiastic crowds across Australia and beyond!
