Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), the leading, global publishing division of Universal Music Group, today announced that Platinum singer/songwriter Sabrina Carpenter (Island Records) has been signed to an exclusive, worldwide publishing agreement.

2023 marks Carpenter’s biggest year yet as an artist, amassing 10B global streams, earning multiple gold and platinum certifications, and performing anthems to sold-out crowds around the world. Her 2022 critically acclaimed album ‘emails I can’t send,’ which debuted at #23 on the Billboard 200 and was highly regarded on Rolling Stone’s “100 Best Albums of 2022,” was followed by one of her biggest hit singles, “Nonsense,” which has amassed more than 1.2 billion streams to date.

From 2022-2023, she performed 80 sold-out shows internationally on her ‘emails i can’t send’ tour. Most recently, Sabrina has been touring as an opening act for the international dates of the global smash Eras Tour.

Jody Gerson, UMPG Chairman and CEO, said: “Sabrina is a next-generation artist. She has the unique ability to translate a spectrum of emotions and experiences into culturally impactful songs. Along with our UMPG family around the world, I am so pleased to be able work closely with Sabrina and her team for years to come. She’s that special!”

“I am so thrilled to have joined the UMPG family and to be a part of an organization that has such a diverse and iconic catalog.  I look forward to bringing my music into a company that houses so many inspirational songwriters and artists,” says Sabrina.

David Gray, EVP and Co-Head of A&R at UMPG, said: “I have known Sabrina for years now and am thrilled to be able to work with her on this next important phase of her career. Sabrina’s songwriting collaborators spoke so highly of her as a writer that it did not escape notice from Jody and I.”
