UMPG songwriters, artists & producers score more than 100 nominations for 2024 GRAMMY Awards

UMPG is thrilled to announce its family of songwriters, artists and producers received widespread recognition in the 2024 GRAMMY Awards nominations. The leading, global music publisher saw its creators pick up an outstanding 108 nominations across genres.

This year’s most nominated GRAMMY artist is UMPG superstar SZA with 9 nods. Tied with 6 nominations each are global talents Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Lucy Dacus (boygenius), and Lana Del Rey and Ludwig Göransson each have 5 nominations. New UMPG signing Jack Antonoff received 7 nominations, including for Producer of the Year, which also recognized Hit-Boy and Metro Boomin. And breakout stars Fred again.., Ice Spice and Gracie Abrams are all nominated for Best New Artist. 

In major categories, UMPG songwriters are nominated five times for Song of the Year: Taylor Swift (Anti-Hero), Lana Del Rey (A&W), Billie Eilish (What Was I Made For?), SZA (Kill Bill), and Dua Lipa (Dance The Night Away). Additionally, UMPG talent earned six Album of the Year nominations for Taylor Swift, SZA, Lana Del Rey, Lucy Dacus, Kid Harpoon, Jon Bellion, Pete Nappi, and Tenroc. For Record of the Year, six UMPG nominations were awarded to Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, SZA, Lucy Dacus, Kid Harpoon, Pete Nappi and Tenroc. 

In Song categories, Best Rap Song recognized Nicki Minaj & Ice Spice (Barbie World), Drake (Rich Flex), and Javier Mercado (Just Wanna Rock). Best R&B Song saw UMPG nominations for SZA (Snooze) and Coleridge Tillman & Theron Feemster (Angel). For Best Rock Song, a nomination went to Lucy Dacus of boygenius (Not Strong Enough).

Across genres, Best Pop Dance Recording nods were awarded to UMPG’s Coi Leray, Troye Sivan and Styalz Fuego. For Best Dance/Electronic Recording: Cirkut, Romy and Fred again.. who was also nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album. The legendary Metallica were nominated for Best Rock Album, among other Rock categories. Best Alternative Music Album saw two nominations for Lucy Dacus and Lana Del Rey. Drake, Metro Boomin and Nas earned nominations for Best Rap Album. Josh Groban, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman earned nominations for Best Musical Theater Album. Best Immersive Audio Album recognized UMPG world-class creative Alicia Keys for The Diary of Alicia Keys.

In the Gospel and Christian Music categories, UMPG/Capitol Christian Music Group received nominations across all field categories. For Best Gospel Performance/Song, CCMG songwriters Marvin Winans, William Weatherspoon and Kirk Franklin were nominated. For Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song, nods went to Blessing Offor, Hank Bentley, Cody Carnes, Austin Davis, Lauren Daigle, and Chris Davenport. Erica Campbell, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Maverick City Music and Tye Tribbett were nominated for Best Gospel Album. UMPG received three nominations for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album with Blessing Offor, Lauren Daigle, Phil Wickham and three nominations for Best Roots Gospel Album with The Blackwood Brothers Quartet, Brian Free & Assurance and Gaither Vocal Band. 

The industry’s leading Latin publisher, UMPG was nominated for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album via Natalia Lafourcade, while Ana Barbara earned a nomination for Best Música Mexicana Album. Further, GRAMMY Award winner Burna Boy was nominated three times, including for Best Global Music Album - as was Cimafunk - while Collie Buddz was nominated for Best Reggae Album. 

UMPG was also highly regarded in music for visual media categories. The pubco saw four nominations for Best Song Written For Visual Media with Nicki Minaj & Ice Spice (Barbie World), Billie Eilish (What Was I Made For?), Dua Lipa (Dance The Night), and Ludwig Göransson (Lift Me Up). Additionally, Göransson was recognized for Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media. 

In addition to the above, UMPG talent is celebrating numerous other GRAMMY nominations across genres and categories. As always, their contributions to great songs and global music culture continue to be invaluable.
