EuropaCorp Renews Partnership with UMPG

EuropaCorp Music Publishing reaffirms its confidence in Universal Music Publishing and has agreed to a multi-year extension to its publishing agreement.

EuropaCorp Music Publishing is EuropaCorp’s branch dedicated to music publishing. This subsidiary owns approximately 1500 musical works including original soundtracks from EuropaCorp movies such as the Taken trilogy and Lucy (with Scarlett Johansson), as well as works from artists such as Archive, Massive Attack and composer Alexandre Desplat (2015 Academy Award-winner for the Best Original Score for the The Grand Budapest Hotel by director Wes Anderson).

Christophe Lambert, Chief Executive Officer of EuropaCorp, is pleased with this renewed partnership and says: "We consider that Universal Music Publishing remains the best partner for us. Music publishing rights is a very specific market with a growing turnover around the world. Therefore, some of the alternative income coming from the use of our movies is now secured for several years."

Jean-Philippe Allard, Chairman of Universal Music Publishing France, adds: "It’s a great pleasure to renew our collaboration with EuropaCorp. Its international success, never seen before in France, makes us very proud of representing its original soundtracks publishing rights around the world."

This deal will be managed by Jean-Philippe Allard at Universal Music Publishing France and Alexandre Mahout, VP - Head of Music and Publishing at EuropaCorp.

Universal Music Publishing, the leading music publisher in the world, has 43 offices in 36 countries. Until 2020, original soundtracks such as The Transporter series, The Family (with Robert de Niro), and the next Luc Besson movie, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (with Cara Delevingne, Dane DeHaan and Rihanna), will be administered by Universal Music Publishing for the World excluding France.
