Jeff Bhasker Receives Two GRAMMY Noms for Producer of the Year, Record of the Year

SANTA MONICA, CA - Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) congratulates producer/songwriter Jeff Bhasker on receiving two Grammy nominations for Producer of the Year and Record of the Year for “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars.

As one of the most in-demand and versatile writer/producers in the world, Bhasker, already a three-time Grammy winner and previously 11-time Grammy nominee, has co-written and produced some of the highest selling and most performed songs and albums in recent years, including the chart-topping Uptown Special (RCA) by Mark Ronson. In the past year, Bhasker had a hit record in a remarkable number of categories spanning multiple genres including Urban (“Uptown Funk”), Pop/Top 40 (“Uptown Funk”), Rhythmic (“Uptown Funk”), Country (“Burning House”) and Alternative (Nate Ruess’ album Grand Romantic). “Uptown Funk” has become one of the biggest global hits in pop history, reaching No.1 on charts around the world, garnering over 1.2 billion YouTube plays and 480 million Spotify streams. Bhasker also launched new female country music sensation Cam, the first artist signed to his label Kravenworks. He co-wrote and produced two songs on her debut album, including “Runaway Train” and “Burning House,” which was the most added radio single for a debut female since 2007. Cam also received a Grammy nomination for Best Country Solo Performance.

In 2015, Bhasker also co-wrote and produced, played piano, keys and electric bass on Ed Sheeran’s hit "Photograph,” which is Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, has sold over one million copies in the U.S. and received over 270 million Spotify streams to date.

For fun. lead singer Nate Ruess, Bhasker co-wrote and co-produced his critically acclaimed debut solo album, Grand Romantic (Fueled by Ramen), and played most instruments on many of the tracks. With a 4.5 star review in Rolling Stone, Grand Romantic debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and spawned four singles: "Nothing Without Love," "AhHa," "Great Big Storm" and "What This World Is Coming To."

On Elle King’s debut studio album, Love Stuff(RCA), he produced and co-wrote three songs: “Last Damn Night,” Kocaine Karolina,” and “Ain’t Gonna Drown.”

For Mikky Ekko, he produced and co-wrote the song “Burning Doves” for his album Time (RCA). He also co-wrote and produced the song “Never Let You Down” by neofolk artist Woodkid feat. Lykke Li for The Divergent Series: Insurgent Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.

Bhasker also co-wrote and co-produced “Everyday” by A$AP Rocky (feat. Rod Stewart, Miguel and Mark Ronson). The song reached No. 23 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart and received over 50 million Spotify plays.

A two-time Producer of the Year nominee, Bhasker previously won Grammys for Song of the Year (2012) for “We Are Young” recorded by fun., Best Rap Song (2011) for “All of the Lights” recorded by Kanye West, and Best Rap Song (2009) for “Run This Town” recorded by Jay-Z). He received the BMI Songwriter of the Year in 2013. In addition Bhasker has co-written and produced numerous hits for some of the biggest artists in the world including “Locked Out of Heaven” by Bruno Mars, “Headlights" by Eminem, “Just Give Me a Reason” by Pink, “Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys, "Find Your Love” by Drake. He’s also worked with such artists Taylor Swift and the Rolling Stones, among many other superstars.
