HOLLYWOOD, CA - MRM is proud to welcome its first global signing, Hollywood film composer and songwriter Bryce Jacobs, one of the best-kept secrets in the entertainment business!
Bryce Jacobs is a unique composer, producer and songwriter whose career story unfolds like a Hollywood movie.
From humble beginnings as a session musician, Bryce quickly transitioned to touring musician for artists Josh Pyke and Genevieve Maynard, as well as international artist Sophie B. Hawkins. Bryce quickly became embedded in the world of film scoring where he participated in the orchestration, copying, recording, and performing of such blockbuster films as "Happy Feet", "Jumper", "Gabriel", "Australia" and "P.S. I Love You". Jacobs then became inspired to turn his sights on Hollywood to pursue his career as a film composer internationally.
With his move to L.A., Bryce quickly transitioned from intern to composer under one of the biggest names in Hollywood - multi Grammy and Academy Award winning Film composer and producer Hans Zimmer. While working at Zimmer’s Remote Control Productions, Jacobs was part of the writing and production of many hit films, video games and television shows; also working closely with Grammy and twice Emmy Nominated composer Ramin Djawadi. Projects have included Warner Brothers' "Clash of the Titans", MGM/UA's "Red Dawn", EA's "Medal of Honor" and "Need for Speed - Shift 2", Activision's "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3", ABC's "Flash Forward" and 20th Century Fox's "Prison Break" and "Breakout Kings". In addition to this, Bryce has also performed on the scores of such films as "Rango", "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides", "Puss in Boots" and "Savages".
In early 2012, Bryce completed a unique Song/Score for the feature film "Bad Karma" starring Ray Liotta and Dominic Purcell. Last year, Bryce worked closely with Hans as composer and featured guitarist on the new Ron Howard film: "Rush" featuring Australian superstar Chris Hemsworth. Bryce also completed another Song/Score for the feature film: "Drive Hard", starring John Cusack and Thomas Jane, set for worldwide release in 2014.
Bryce's dedication to film music led to the development of a guitar of his own design - a guitar that was based on the range and capabilities of a piano. Through the facilitation of transcribing existing piano music faithfully onto this guitar; the instrument became a new and exciting platform to write and perform any style of music on.
Bryce Jacobs came to the attention of CM Murphy by Universal Music Publishing Group Chairman Zach Horowitz and via a fortuitous meeting in L.A. recently, Bryce is now joining MRM as a songwriter and producer for key new MRM projects. Bryce will be creating new master recordings for MRM along with his existing catalogue available for synchronization opportunities.
"I am truly excited to be working with CM and his team. CM is someone who not only has an extremely impressive history, but also continually cultivates a sharp and global approach of ingenuity through dynamic thought processes. I very much look forward to the path that lies ahead," said Bryce Jacobs.
“Bryce Jacobs is one of the most talented and innovative songwriters, arrangers and producers I’ve ever met. He is a major new signing for MRM!” said CM Murphy.
