SANTA MONICA, CA - Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), the world’s leading music publishing company, announced today the appointment of Rebekah Alperin to Senior Vice President Marketing and Communications.
In this position, Alperin will be responsible for managing the company’s worldwide corporate marketing, internal and external communications, social media and digital marketing initiatives. She will work closely with UMPG’s management team and staff as well as with Universal Music Group global communications in shaping and executing strategy for the publishing company and its subsidiaries around the world.
Alperin will report to Evan Lamberg, president of UMPG North America, and Will Tanous, executive vice president and head of global communications of Universal Music Group, and will be based at the company’s headquarters in Santa Monica, California.

Alperin joins UMPG and UMG’s communications team from Kobalt Music Group where she worked for nearly 10 years, most recently as senior vice president of communications and marketing worldwide. During her tenure with Kobalt, Alperin was responsible for that company’s communications, corporate marketing and brand positioning, and was recognized by Billboard (Jan. 2012) as one of ten "Senior Executives on Publishing's Cutting Edge." She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University.
