Superstar UMPG writer Justin Timberlake took down the house at the opening of the Academy Awards, where he performed his Oscar nominated song, “Cant’Stop The Feeling!” (from the movie Trolls). Mid performance, he shifted into “Lovely Day,” written and originally a hit by Bill Withers (“Lean On Me,” “Ain’t No Sunshine”).
At a Songwriters Hall of Fame event in Los Angeles moderated by Withers, a joyful Timberlake said the “Lovely Day” was influenced by Withers’ classic, and called him his “idol.” UMPG President North America Evan Lamberg introduced Timberlake at the event as “the greatest entertainer of his generation.” Congratulations Justin on this major accomplishment! At the event, Timberlake said he was currently working on his next album and writing with his "Can't Stop the Feeling!" collaborators, Max Martin and Shellback.
