UMPG has signed an exclusive, worldwide publishing deal with Grammy-winning artist and producer Zedd.
Currently featured on Hailee Steinfeld & Grey’s international hit “Starving," Zedd has had numerous chart topping hits both as an artist and producer. His first two albums Clarity and True Colors garnered multiple Top 10 singles on the US Top 40, No.1s on US Dance Charts, and 600+ million Spotify streams. Global hits by Zedd include his Grammy-winning song, “Clarity" feat. Foxes,"Stay The Night" feat. Hayley Williams of Paramore, and "I Want You To Know" feat. Selena Gomez. He also released an emotional reimagining of the title track, "True Colors" feat. Kesha, which debuted last year at Coachella. Zedd’s new single with Alessia Cara, “Stay,” debuted February 23 on Spotify.
Besides his work as an artist, Zedd has produced for many of the biggest names in music such as Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga. "Break Free" by Ariana Grande reached No.4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was a global smash with 345 million global Spotify streams to date. His "Beauty And A Beat" by Justin Bieber feat. Nicki Minaj had similar impact, reaching No.2 on US Top 40 radio.
“We are thrilled Zedd and his team chose to move his catalogue to Universal Music Publishing. He is a gifted musician and we couldn’t be more excited to help expand his opportunities as a songwriter, producer and artist across the globe,” said Jody Gerson, Chairman and CEO, UMPG.
Through the deal, UMPG will also represent two of Zedd’s frequent collaborators, Grey (brothers Michael and Kyle Trewartha) and Lophiile. On the heels of “Starving,” Grey recently released a second single, "I Miss You" feat. Bahari, and are working on their new album. Critically acclaimed artist and producer Lophiile is currently working with Gallant, Moss Kenna, Ray BLK and many other cutting edge artists.
