UMPG writers’ success at 2019 Brit awards

UMPG writers’ success at 2019 Brit awards

In a great night for UMPG artists, Tom Walker, Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande were among the winners at this year’s Brit awards.

Tom Walker took home his first Brit, the award for British Breakthrough Act. In a humble speech, Tom called the win an ‘an absolute honour and privilege’.

Currently boasting No’s 1, 2 and 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, Ariana Grande was crowned International Female Solo Artist.

Unstoppable pop sensation Dua Lipa (Tap Publishing) won the award for British Single for "One Kiss" (with Calvin Harris).

There was no shortage of UMPG representation in the night’s performances. Dua Lipa took part in a medley with some of the biggest names in pop, H.E.R accompanied Jess Glynne in an emotional performance and Bastille’s Dan Smith joined P!nk for part of her closing medley.

Overall UMPG artists and writers received 20 nominations at this year's Brits, with nominees including:

Florence & The Machine (Mastercard British Album of the Year, British Female Solo Artist),
Lily Allen (British Female Solo Artist)
Years & Years (British Group)
Craig David (British Male Solo Artist)
Shawn Mendes (International Male Solo Artist)
Eminem (International Male Solo Artist)

UMPG had interest in 7 of the 10 nominees for British Single.

Congratulations to all our winners and nominees!
