UMP Australia Signs Holy Holy To Global Publishing Deal In Line With 'Paint' Album Release

Sydney (Mar 1, 2017) – Universal Music Publishing Australia has signed a global music publishing deal with Tim Carroll, Ryan Strathie and Matt Redlich of Holy Holy, it was announced today by Andrew Jenkins, President of Universal Music Publishing Australasia, and Arwen Curson, VP Creative of Music Publishing Australia and New Zealand.

In making the announcement, Curson said “I've been a fan of this band for a long while, so of course I’m over the moon to secure their publishing (the majority of it anyway!). Every track is so very carefully crafted to be signature Holy Holy, and underneath all the exquisite layers lie the most beautiful songs that will, no doubt, stand the test of time. We are truly honoured to be part of such an incredible team of people and we’re going to do all we can to open doors for them the world over.”

The band started out as a creative outlet for long time friends Tim and guitarist/producer Oscar Dawson. Their 2015 debut album ‘When The Storms Would Come’ debuted at an impressive No. 11 on the ARIA Album Chart. The album reached No. 2 on the National Indie Chart, No.8 on the iTunes chart, and all five singles were added to high rotation on Triple J. Off the back of this, the band has been touring extensively across the country with acts like Vance Joy, The Preatures, Boy & Bear including an incredible sold out 20-date national headline tour.

On signing, lead singer and APRA PDA Award Winning songwriter Tim said: “I've been writing songs for about 15 years now and I think because I have always found it so hard that I have been drawn to it. It's an endlessly fascinating puzzle. Crazy at times and at others deeply satisfying. At this stage in my life I'm mainly working in a small team with a group of interesting and skilled players in the project Holy Holy - and with our latest release 'Paint' there are some works which come close to being as good as I could have ever hoped to be a part of. For that reason, I'm excited to have been signed to Universal Publishing in time for its release. Like many people on our team, Universal has come with a passion for music and the craft of songwriting. The new team have a wealth of experience and it would seem, some new approaches to how publishing is managed in Australia. I look forward to working with them into the future as I continue to develop as a songwriter.”

Described by Rolling Stone magazine as "one of the country's best bands", Holy Holy have smashed any preconceptions with their second album ‘Paint’. The record is packed with personality, experimentation and open-mindedness, but at the same time is pulled so perfectly together.

Holy Holy join a UMP Australia roster that includes Gang Of Youths, Alex The Astronaut, I Know Leopard, Sons Of The East, Thief, Peking Duk, Horrorshow, Vera Blue, The Veronicas, M-Phazes, JOY., Jonti, KLP, Bag Raiders, Cloves, Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, Cosmo’s Midnight and many more.
