Frank Boeijen received the NPO Radio 5 Oeuvre Award last Sunday, September 3rd, in his own city of Nijmegen. He did this during a specially organised concert for him.
The jury was unanimous in its decision, stating:
"We praise his musicality and his character in text and music; a pillar in the Dutch pop music. His unique voice and visual texts make Frank Boeijen a singer who inspires many young Dutch artists. He follows his own musical course and is praised for it by Radio 5."
Frank Boeijen is a pioneer in the Dutch pop music as a singer, writer and composer. In the eighties he founded the succesfull "Frank Boeijen Groep" and continued in the nineties as a solo artist. He currently has a group of musicians with whom he plays on festivals and tours theaters, both in The Netherlands and in Belgium.
Overall he released over 25 albums during his entire career.
