Universal Music Publishing Scandinavia today announced an exclusive, global publishing agreement with the new publishing division of Steve Angello’s label SIZE Music.
Established by renowned DJ and producer Steve Angello in 2003, SIZE Music is recognized as one of the most influential and iconic dance labels of the past two decades. The legendary label made its debut with Angello’s own track “Dirty Pleasure” and, over the years, has been responsible for releasing some of the most iconic electronic dance songs: the very early works of Avicii, Steve Angello’s “Knas,” “Tivoli” and “Valodja,” as well as Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman & Steve Angello’s “Payback,” among many others. Angello also recently released his single “ME” through his label. In April, he will return to the desert for a solo headlining set at Coachella.
Angello said: "Having worked with Jonas Wikström at UMPG Scandinavia for over twenty years, he's always been a part of my wider music journey. As we focus on building out our SIZE family, collaborating with Universal Music Publishing felt like the natural next step. This partnership is not just about growth; it's about enriching and expanding the opportunities for our roster at SIZE. It's a move towards a vibrant and dynamic future, and I'm excited about the possibilities and new directions it will open up for us."
The new agreement will see both companies move forward with a clear focus on evolving the electronic music scene. Additionally, the deal aims to strengthen SIZE's role in discovering and supporting new talent, while continuing to release groundbreaking music. SIZE is committed to maintaining its position as an influential leader in the electronic music space, pushing the industry and its sound forward.
Jonas Wikström, Managing Director, UMPG Scandinavia, added: “Few people I’ve met over the years have been so much about music as Steve Angello. Steve is more creative than ever - constantly pushing boundaries, challenging himself and his collaborators. In addition, Steve is and has always been an incredible entrepreneur with extraordinary drive and mentorship. I’m very excited that we, over twenty years into our relationship, are joining forces. I look forward to seeing our respective teams create opportunities for the great music represented by Size.”
SIZE recently celebrated its 20th anniversary with a sold-out show in Stockholm, Sweden, where it all began. The event featured performances by AN21, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Kryder, and Corey James.
"This collaboration represents one of the key steps we are taking at SIZE to enhance opportunities for our roster and to strengthen our position for the future. I'm thrilled to be working closely with Jonas Wikström, Anton Ericson and the rest of the UMPG team in the upcoming years." – Waldemar Nordström, Label Manager, SIZE Music
