Today, Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), Universal Music Group’s leading global publishing division, announced that Latin singer-songwriter Ivan Cornejo has been signed to an exclusive global publishing agreement. UMPG is recognized globally as a true music publisher and the home to the industry’s leading songwriters.
At just 19-years-old, Cornejo has already topped Billboard’s Latin Songwriters chart, landing his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart with his sophomore album, ‘Dañado.’ Cornejo’s debut album, ‘Alma Vacía,’ reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums Chart and No. 7 on Top Latin Albums Chart. The self-taught musician and songwriter from Riverside, California, has a unique musical style that blends alternative rock with Música Mexicana.
With hundreds of millions of streams, Cornejo has multiple hit songs, including “Esta Dañada,” “La Curiosidad,” “Hasta la Muerte” and “J,” among others. At the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards, Cornejo won Regional Mexican Album of the Year for ‘Alma Vacía’ and is currently nominated in four categories including Top Latin Album of the Year at the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards. Currently, the in-demand star is touring the US and Mexico with 40 upcoming shows.
