UMPG Writers Score Multiple APRA Music Awards Nominations

Universal Music Publishing Australia would like to congratulate our 2016 APRA Award nominees. 

Peking Duk who put on an incredible performance of their Multi-Platinum single 'Take Me Over' at the 2015 ARIAs where the song also was nominated for ‘Best Dance Release’ and ‘Song of the Year’ has once again been rewarded with nominations in the 'Dance Work of the Year' category and 'Most Played Australian Work' at this years APRA Music Awards. 

The Veronicas who also performed an incredible show stopping version of ‘Chains’ together with fellow UMPG writer Jessica Mauboy and Tina Arena on last years ARIAs and also took home the ‘Best Video’ Award for #1 single and multi-platinum hit ‘You Ruin Me’ have been nominated in the ‘Pop Work of the Year’ with their smash hit ‘If You Love Someone’.

In the ‘Country Work of the Year’ category- country music veterans Lee Kernaghan and Colin Buchanan are nominated twice for ‘I Will Always Be With You’ and ‘Spirit of the ANZACs’ from the album which held the top spot on the ARIA Album charts for four consecutive weeks and rewarded Kernaghan with the ‘Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2015 ARIA Awards and 3 awards at this years CMC Music Awards. 

Other nominations for our UMP writers include 5 times ARIA Award nominated Gang of Youths frontman David Le’aupepe for the ‘Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year’ category, Andrew Burford in ‘Urban Work of the Year’ for his work on Hilltop Hoods’ ‘Live and Let Go’, Lance Ferguson of The Bamboos in the ‘Blues & Roots Work of the Year’ category and our international writers for their work on Maroon 5’s ‘Sugar’, OMI’s ‘Cheerleader’ and Mark Ronson’s ‘Uptown Funk’.

The APRA Awards will be held in Sydney on Tuesday, April 5 at The Carriageworks. Congratulations to all our nominated writers!
