'Nothing Comes Easy' premiered in 5 Nov on Triple J on Roots 'n All, but now the track and video is available on all platforms following their performance at Lost Picnic Festival in Sydney alongside Tash Saltana and fellow UMPG writer and performer Odette.
With over 50 million streams, 13 million Youtube views and an ever growing international fan base with their performances at SXSW in the US and sold out UK & European tour, the band show no signs of slowing down.
The trio have unleashed 'Nothing Comes Easy' as a first taste of their forthcoming third studio release, "...it came out of a jam session over at Nic’s house. We were pedaling those simple chords back and forth and Jack sang the title phrase Nothing Comes Easy. From there the theme and lyrics evolved naturally about helping a friend to triumph over hard times. So it’s really about friendship and companionship when it’s needed most." says band member Dan Wallage.
The song presents their signature folk sensibility with soulful and infectious vocals, to create a seamless and entrancing sound that draws on everything from Neil Young and Johnny Cash to Fleetwood Mac and The Kinks.
The video is intimate as it shows the band, projecting homely feelings, in the midst of winter in a cosy room, playing music together. Which, is similar to how the song was birthed to begin with.
