Swedish House Mafia
Swedish House Mafia is a Swedish electronic dance music trio consisting of house DJs and producers, Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso. The group officially formed in late 2008.They immediately became the world’s fastest and best selling electronic artists of all time and has been called 'the faces of mainstream progressive house music.'
The members of the Swedish trio initially teamed up in the mid-2000s, when they toured together as DJs and collaborated from time to time on one another's productions. Axwell, Angello, and Ingrosso's breakout performance as Swedish House Mafia came in August 2008, when they played the Main Room at Cream Amnesia in Ibiza, Spain as part of Radio 1's Essential Mix Ibiza. In 2009, they released 'Leave The World Behind.' Their first official single, 'One (Your Name),' under the name Swedish House Mafia was released on Beatport in May 2010, where it charted at number seven at the UK Singles Chart. It also achieved international success as a top 10 hit in Sweden, The Netherlands, and Belgium, and landed on the group's debut album, 2010's 'Until One.' The next single, 'Miami 2 Ibiza,' featuring Tinie Tempah, charted at number four in the UK Chart in September 2010. Both tracks were taken from the album 'Until One,' a collection of productions and remixes by Swedish House Mafia as a group and as individuals. It was certified Gold in the UK.
In May 2011, Swedish House Mafia released a new single, 'Save the World,' the song was a commercial success and charted at number 10 in the UK, and 4 in Sweden. Their final and most commercially successful track 'Don't You Worry Child,' was released on September 14, 2012 becoming number 1 in Australia, Sweden and the UK as well as becoming a top 10 hit in most other countries. Both songs were included on their second album 'Until Now,' as well as 'Antidote' and 'Greyhound.'
In 2012, one of the greatest electronic touring acts of all time announced that they would be coming to an end despite them being at the peak of a record-breaking musical career, 'One Last Tour' being their last. Since then, fans from all across the world have wondered and hoped whether they had seen the last of Swedish House Mafia. That dream of seeing Swedish House Mafia return has become reality as Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angello, in 2018, chose to put the past behind them and come together not just as Swedish House Mafia, but as artists, and more importantly as three best friends with a message.
In 2019, Swedish House Mafia finally reunited and performed for 115.000 fans at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden over three sold-out nights.
2021 saw the return of Swedish House Mafia with 'It Gets Better,' the electronic trio’s first new music in more than eight years.
