For the first time in more than four years, a song written solely by one person has climbed to the number one position in country music. This is especially rare in a time where most songs are written by a committee of three or more.This is quite the feat for singer-songwriter Lori McKenna. The last song written by a single person that reached the number one spot was Taylor Swift's "Ours" in 2012. Another illustration of how rare this is would be to point out that out of the entire 60-song Country Airplay chart this week, “Humble and Kind” is the only current single written by one person.

Tim McGraw released "Humble and Kind" as the second single off his Damn Country Music album. The music video features scenes from Oprah Winfrey's seven-part documentary series Belief, which displays how people from around the world celebrate their beliefs and cultures. This song has also inspired a book featuring the lyrics, illustrations, and an a message from Tim McGraw and songstress Lori McKenna. In addition, Tim McGraw is launching a website, stayhumbleandkind.com, that will collect stories of random acts of kindness that embody the message of the song.
