Universal Music Publishing Nashville today announced that rising country singer-songwriter Matt Schuster has been signed to an exclusive, global publishing agreement.
The 21-year-old singer/songwriter from Charleston, IL, has quickly grown a fanbase with over half a million followers and 2MM monthly listeners. He has amassed over 75MM streams with original songs such as “Know Ya,” “From The Start,” and “If I Was A Cowboy.” Averaging 10MM streams monthly, Schuster recently notched four songs on the Spotify Country Global Top 200 Chart. With his vulnerable writing style and roaring vocal range, Schuster has caught the attention of the Nashville music industry and become one of Music Row’s most buzzed about names. He recently released his new single, “Wasted Prayers,” to all streaming platforms.
Roxy King, Director A&R for UMPG Nashville, said: “The first time I heard Matt’s songs and voice, I knew we had to work with him. His talent, work ethic and vision have captured the interest of Music Row and beyond. We are thrilled that he chose UMPG as his music publishing partner and look forward to supporting all of his success to come.”
Schuster added: “This relationship is the beginning of something very special. Roxy and the UMPG team really understand my vision, and it’s so encouraging to know they have the same goals. This feels like family. I’m so proud to call UMPG home.”
