Dutch songwriting / production team Future Presidents have obtained worldwide success with ‘Electric Shock’ – a track performed by hugely popular Korean girlband f(x).
The track was released in June 2012, and within an hour it achieved an ‘all-kill’ across various Korean music portals. ‘Electrick Shock’ went to No. 1 in Korea, topped the electronic music charts in the US and Canada and charted in numerous other countries around the world. It quickly became one of the most popular videos on YouTube, with over 14 million views in only two weeks.
In a recent interview with the f(x) fan site ‘iheartfx’, Future Presidents admitted they had no idea the song would become so popular, explaining, “One day we woke up and got tweets from a lot of Korean f(x) fans who congratulated us on the track and the video views. We never imagined it would do so well worldwide since it's a Korean song. f(x) really has great fans and we want to thank them all for the support of ‘Electric Shock’, it has been great to be a part of it.”
