Laura Jansen, the LA based singer-songwriter, releases her second album ‘Elba' on March 22 in The Netherlands, followed by the rest of Europe on March 25. The album is preceded by the single ‘Queen Of Elba' on February 19.
‘Elba' follows Laura's debut record from 2009, ‘Bells', with which she became synonymous with the blossoming Hotel Café singer-songwriter scene in Los Angeles. ‘Bells' was also a huge success in Europe, where Laura's Dutch roots lead her to platinum sales in Holland and sell out tours across Germany. ‘Bells' remained in the Dutch Top 100 for almost two years.
‘Elba' is produced by Matt ‘Aqualung' Hales (Lianne La Havas, Jason Mraz), with the title referencing the Italian island where Napoleon Bonaparte spent 300 days in exile. In addition to the single ‘Queen Of Elba', the album includes the touching live favourite ‘Pretty Me', and guest features from Ed Harcourt on ‘Call To Arms' and Tom Chaplin (Keane) on ‘Same Heart', a track which recently topped the charts in Holland.
In April Laura Jansen will start her tour through Europe, commencing in The Netherlands.
