León Benavente release second album ‘2’

León Benavente are back with “2” (Warner Music), one of the most anticipated LPs of the year. If their eponymous first album in 2013 was highly appreciated by both public and critics, this new release is a bold step forward that marks the band’s arrival as one of the most important bands in the Spanish music scene.

“2” was recorded at Garate Estudio (Andoain) with Kaki Arkarazo, mixed by Luca Petricca (Estudios Reno) and remastered by Mike Marh.

We already know the first single “Tipo D”, a rhythm storm full of irony; and “La Ribera”, with a chorus tribute to The Clash.  Fernández Mallo speaks about “steady beats, dark and synth pop echoes, in occasions surprisingly minimal, with restless programming and carefully distributed riffs in a noisy pop with abstract electronic sometimes and great melodic song others”.

They have started their tour in Burgos and will be touring all over Spain (Madrid, Córdoba, Valencia, Seville…) as well as many festivals including BBK Live, PortAmérica, Low Festival, Sueños de Libertad, Contempopranea, SOS 4.8, Culture Fest, Ojeando, Fárdelej, Festival Tendencias, Sonorama Ribera, V de Valarés, South Pop or Santander Music, among others.
