Hart Beat is a Dutch coming-of age film,  with a little “Notting Hill” touch.

Discovering where your passion lies and following your heart is what the leading characters are after during the story of the film. Music is the binding element. None of them really feels seen, because of which none of them are leading the life they’re dreaming of.  Mik, a Dutch superstar a la Justin Bieber, is living a life, every average boy would be jealous of. However, he is being lived by his manager and doesn’t see he’s not able to make his own choices. Zoe, a shy singer-songwriter, hasn’t touched a guitar since her father left her. 

The people around them, like Mik’s PA JJ and Zoe’s best friend Sam, make sure that their lives stay on track. However, their motives are not always that noble, for also JJ and Sam are dealing with the fact they’re not being seen. Just when Mik and Zoe think their life’s all figured out for them, they meet and everything changes.
