Dua Lipa (Tap Music Publishing) had an incredible night at this year’s Grammys, scooping up two awards and wowing audiences with a boundary-pushing performance.
Silk City’s ‘Electricity,’ which was co-written by Dua Lipa and The xx’s Romy Madley Croft, received the award for Best Dance Recording, while Dua Lipa also went home with the title of Best New Artist.
Accepting the accolade, she paid tribute to the “incredible” host of female artists nominated for the Best New Artist category, and became one of the rare few British female artists to pick up two Grammys in the same night (joining Adele and Amy Winehouse).
Elsewhere during the evening, Dua Lipa performed a hugely exciting duet with St. Vincent, mashing up ‘One Kiss’ with St. Vincent’s ‘Masseduction.’ Haim also received a nod at the awards, with their track 'Walking Away' winning Best Remixed Recording by Mura Masa
The awards make for Dua Lipa’s first Grammy wins.
