Clara Hagman developed an interest in music early in life studying jazz vocals and piano. It fueled her passion for writing and experimenting with melodies. Taking the artist name Clara Mae in 2014 she later garnered attention as featured artist and co-writer on Norwegian duo KREAM's 'Taped Up Heart,' which entered Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs and the Swedish singles chart.
Soon after, Clara Mae signed to Big Beat Records/Atlantic and released her EP 'Sorry For Writing All The Songs About You' in 2018. The conceptual six-song EP tells the story of a turbulent relationship and includes multimillion steaming singles 'I’m Not Her' and 'I Forgot.'
In 2018 she was named one of YouTube Music’s Artists on the Rise and featured in Paper Magazine’s list of women revolutionizing pop.
