Baz Luhrmann’s latest feature sees him teaming up with long time writing collaborator Craig Pearce for their version of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s 1920s classic ‘The Great Gatsby’. The film stars Leonardo Di Caprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan, and is one of the most highly anticipated films of 2013.
The soundtrack was executive produced by Jay Z and aims to “translate the Jazz Age sensibility of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel into the musical equivalents of our own times." It includes songs recorded especially by Universal Music Publishing artists: Florence + The Machine ‘Over the Love’ and The xx ‘Together’. Florence + The Machine's contribution also appears in the spectacular trailer for the film.
‘The Great Gatsby’ will be released in UK cinemas on 16th May.
