Lily Allen has covered Keane ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ for the stunning John Lewis 2013 Christmas ad campaign - with the single topping the UK charts.

The animated spot, dubbed ‘The Bear & The Hare’, tells the story of a group of woodland animals celebrating Christmas. The hare wants his friend the bear to experience Christmas for the first time – something he’s never done as he is always hibernating.

John Lewis has a history of using cover versions of classic songs in their Christmas adverts. Previous festive spots featuring UMP songwriters include Elton John ‘Your Song’ (covered by Ellie Goulding) and The Smiths ‘Please Please Let Me Get What I Want’ (covered by Slow Moving Millie).

This year's advert was created by agency Adam&Eve/DDB, and will get its first TV airing on Saturday 9th November during X Factor.
