UMPG nominated for six Music Week Sync Awards

Universal Music Publishing have been nominated for 6 awards across 5 categories at this year’s Music Week Sync Awards; a ceremony that recognises excellence within sync teams from publishers, labels and ad agencies, as well as music supervisors and individual syncs.

Lily Allen’s cover of ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ for John Lewis’s acclaimed Christmas TV advert ‘The Bear & The Hare’ has been nominated within the TV Advert category.

Similarly the sync partnership between Starship’s anthemic single ‘We Built This City’ and Three’s ‘#SingItKitty’ advert has been nominated for the best Online/Viral Advert.

UMPG have two nominations in the Movie Soundtrack category, firstly for the use of Roachford’s 1988 hit ‘Cuddly Toy’ within the opening credits of ‘Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa’ and also for the use of Alanis Morrisette’s album ‘Jagged Little Pill’ in the Steve Coogan / Rob Brydon comedy ‘Trip To Italy’.

The sync partnership between Raleigh Ritchie’s single ‘Stronger Than Ever’ and the trailer for ITV’s new drama channel ‘Encore’ has also earned a nomination within the Trailer (TV or Movie) category.

To round this off, UMPG's Film & TV department have also been nominated for Best Publisher Sync Team.

The Music Week Sync Awards will take place on 2nd October at the Bloomsbury Ballroom in London.
