Joanna Hogg’s The Souvenir is out now, featuring several songs from UMPG artists, including Bauhaus, Elvis Costello and Gary Numan.
Dubbed by Empire as “an understated, exquisite gem of a film” The Souvenir’s tale of a turbulent relationship in 1980s London is fittingly soundtracked by the likes of Bauhaus’ ‘Passion Of Lovers’ and Gary Numan’s ‘Metal’.
Elsewhere in the film, the soundtrack’s given a reggae kick with The Upsetters’ ‘Dread Lion’ and a 60s Beat break with The Spencer Davis Group’s ‘Alec In Transitland’.
With the musical interludes lauded by The Guardian – Robert Wyatt’s 'Shipbuilding', written by Elvis Costello, is given a "glorious outing" – The Souvenir isn’t one to miss.
