UMPG spots win for Best Use of Music at the Creative Circle Awards

Simple Minds ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’ co-written by Keith Forsey and Steve Schiff won Silver for its feature in the Argos ‘Book Of Dreams’ Christmas ad, while ‘I Will Survive’, written by Freddie Perren and Dino Fekaris, won Gold for its placement in the Ovarian Cancer Action campaign.

Marking the start of Christmas with a revamping of their iconic catalogue into the ‘Book of Dreams’, Argos’ ad featured a father and daughter sharing their dream of drumming on stage together. Simple Minds’ decade defining song filled the space of “a track that a dad would fantasise about but cool enough for the daughter to fall in love with and keep it with her for life.”

The Ovarian Cancer Action ad sees a collective of young girls performing a spoken word rendition of ‘I Will Survive’, while a cover of the song by Birdy plays in the background. Speaking of the placement, UMPG’s Tom Foster referred to the use of the song as “creative and impactful.”
