Three of the songs for the London 2012 Olympic Games sports presentation are from UMPG artists: The Chemical Brothers ‘Velodrome’, Delphic ‘Good Life’ and Elton John vs Pnau ‘Good Morning to the Night’.
The Chemical Brothers composed ‘Velodrome’ especially for the Olympic Track Cycling events, with Tom Rowlands saying of the project, “I have always made a connection between electronic music and cycling repetition, the freedom and sense of movement... For us to create the theme for the Velodrome is a great honour and we're really excited to hear it in situ."
Delphic were equally excited to be on board, explaining, “We can’t tell you how much it means to be involved with a world spectacle so great it only comes around every four years.” ‘Clarion Call’ from the band’s debut album has also been chosen as Channel Four’s theme tune for the Paralympics, plus they have reworked ‘Chariots of Fire’ which will be used for the medal ceremonies.
