Keane release 'Strangeland'

Keane are set to release their highly anticipated fourth studio album ‘Strangeland’ on Monday 7th May.

It’s been eight years since the release of the band’s Brit Award winning debut album ‘Hopes and Fears’ which went nine times Platinum. This was followed by ‘Under the Iron Sea’ (2006) and ‘Perfect Symmetry’ (2008).

‘Strangeland’ began with an incredibly prolific spell of songwriting from Tim Rice Oxley who said, “I must have had about 100 songs in various forms before we entered the studio”. The first song to take shape was ‘Sovereign Light Cafe’ inspired by a seafront cafe in Bexhill where Tim and drummer Richard Hughes would spend their teenage summers. More songs quickly followed including ‘Neon River’, ‘Watch How You Go’, ‘The Starting Line’, ‘On the Road’ and the first single from the album ‘Silenced by the Night’.

Keane are now are a four piece, with bass player Jesse Quin joining existing band members Tim Rice Oxley, Tom Chaplin and Richard Hughes. ‘Strangeland’ was produced by Dan Grech, who has previously worked with The Vaccines.

Strangeland is released 7th May 2012 on Island Records.
