UMP artists named as 'ones to watch' for 2013

Universal Music Publishing artists have featured in several end of year lists highlighting new talent for 2013.

The influential BBC Sound of 2013 shortlist featured AlunaGeorge at No. 2 and Laura Mvula at No. 4. Speaking to the BBC about their ranking, George Reid, one half of AlunaGeorge, explained, "There is a little bit more pressure now because people expect a certain level or certain feel to the music, but that pressure is a massive blessing."

MTV’s Brand New for 2013 selection featured three UMP artists – with Disclosure, Gabrielle Aplin and Rascals all featured.  The winner will be chosen by public vote and announced on 1st February.

The Times have placed Laura Mvula at No. 3 in the 'Culture' section of their 'New Power List', which nominates 100 people to watch in 2013.

The Guardian featured Laura Mvula and AlunaGeorge in their ‘Hot Right Now’ round-up. Talking about her forthcoming album to The Guardian, Laura Mvula explained, “I just think what I’m doing is interesting, and I can’t wait to see the response to this project”.

Time Out's round-up includes Post War Years, describing the quartet from Leamington Spa as "the future of indie-pop now".
