Annie Lennox has been honoured with the prestigious Music Industry Trusts Award, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to British Music and her charity work.

Receiving the award, Annie said: “I'm incredibly touched and honoured to be considered as a recipient of the 22nd Music Industry Trusts Award. Music has given me a lifetime of experiences and opportunities that I never would have dreamed possible, and I feel very privileged to have been able to become an artist and communicator, especially as a woman.”

Previous recipient of the award Elton John praised Annie’s “extraordinary contribution to music and songwriting” as well as her “outstanding and tireless work as an HIV and AIDS activist and supporter of woman’s rights.”

Annie Lennox has received many previous accolades, including 8 BRIT Awards, 4 Grammys and a Golden Globe. She is one of the UK’s most successful artists, selling over 80 million records worldwide.
