Laura Mvula was one of the big winners at the 2013 MOBO Awards, walking away with two trophies – ‘Best Female Act’ and ‘Best RnB / Soul Act’. She also performed the title track from her debut album ‘Sing to The Moon’ at the awards ceremony.
Earlier this year Laura was nominated for the BRITS Critic’s Choice award, The Mercury Prize, and came fourth in the BBC Sound of 2013 poll. Her debut won high praise from music critics when it was released in March, with The Telegraph calling it “one of the most striking and original debuts from any British artist in many a year.”
UMP Signing FUSE ODG also walked away with a gong, winning ‘Best African Act’.
