Haim's debut album ‘Days Are Gone’ (Polydor Records) - has shot straight to the top of the UK album charts the week of release.
Having begun the year as the BBC Sound of 2013 winners, off the back of two limited edition EPs and a handful of sold-out UK live dates, Haim shut themselves away in the studio for the next few months to perfect their hotly anticipated debut. As well as including previous singles and live favourites ‘Forever’ ‘Don’t Save Me’, 'Falling’ and most recent single ‘The Wire’ – the album features four brand new songs that have yet to be aired on stage.
The album has been highly praised in the music press. The Guardian and Observer both awarded 4 stars, with The Guardian noting that “almost everything here sounds like a potential hit”. NME give 8/10, suggesting “Haim are a rock band who've made one of the best pop albums you'll hear all year”, whilst Rolling Stone reckon that “this is the kind of microtriumph you sit up and root for.”
