Lily Allen walked away with the trophy for Best Solo Artist at last night’s NME Awards. The win follows her return to the charts with a cover of Keane's 'Somewhere Only We Know' and single ‘Hard Out Here’. Her next single ‘Air Balloon’ is released next week, with her third album due out later this year.
Disclosure ft. Aluna George ‘White Noise’ won Best Track. The single peaked at No. 2 last year, and is certified Gold in the UK - with worldwide sales at nearly half a million.
Haim scooped the award for Best International Band, later tweeting that they were “FedEx-ing the award to our high school principal”. The Clash ‘Sound System’ won Best Reissue.
On the night Metronomy joined forces with MKS (aka Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan - the original Sugababes) to perform their latest single ‘Love Letters’.
