Universal Music Publishing has renewed its worldwide publishing deals with Florence Welch (Florence + The Machine), Paul Weller and Steve Booker.
From being nominated for the BBC Sound of 2009 award early in their career, Florence + The Machine have gone on to secure a reputation as one of the UK’s most distinctive musical talents, selling over 8 million albums worldwide to date, including 3 million in the US.
Florence Welch said: “'Universal Music Publishing were one of the first to support me in my career. I'm extremely happy to continue my relationship with them.”
Paul Weller formed seminal punk band The Jam in 1976, releasing six studio albums, four of which went Top 10, then went on to form The Style Council. Since 1991 he has forged a hugely successful solo career, releasing eleven studio albums, all of which have charted in the UK Top 10, four reaching the top spot.
Paul Weller said, "I’m happy to be renewing my publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing. It’s a great team and a great home for me."
Steve Booker’s songs have sold over 30 million records to date. His most recent success has been co-writing six songs on John Newman’s debut album ‘Tribute’, including the album’s lead single - the international hit ‘Love Me Again’ - which has sold over 2 million copies worldwide.
Steve Booker said, “It’s great to continue my relationship with my UMP family and to enjoy the creative freedom that it brings to keep the hits coming.”
