The album is combines new tracks with firm fan favourites including ‘Never Say Die’, ‘Stronger Than Ever’ and recent single ‘Bloodsport ‘15’. It showcases Raleigh’s unique blend of pop, soul, R&B, hip-hop and indie. Listening to the breadth of genres present in his music, it’s hardly surprising to hear that he's been inspired by artists as diverse as Kanye West and Elton John.
‘You're A Man Now, Boy’ explores the theme of growing up: “It’s really about that feeling of being in between stages and grappling with getting older. It’s about questioning why we need to grow up.”
Each track on ‘You’re A Man Now, Boy’ was written by Raleigh, in conjunction with acclaimed producers who share his vision – including Sounwave (Kendrick Lamar), Chris Loco (Kwabs), Mike Elizondo (Dr.Dre/Eminem) and DJ Dahi (Drake).
Raleigh Ritchie was recently described by The Telegraph as “the best young R'n'B singer-songwriter in Britain", and ‘You’re A Man Now, Boy’ is already racking up critical acclaim. The Guardian award 4 stars, praising it’s “compelling vulnerability and humanity” whilst The Evening Standard (4 stars) label it “bold and cutting edge”. As Complex rather aptly described, he may just be a “pop-soul prince in waiting… ready for the throne.”
