Harry Styles self-titled album debuts at No.1 in UK Albums Chart

UMPG singer songwriter Harry Styles is celebrating his self-titled debut album charting at No. 1 in its first week. The eagerly awaited album from the former One Direction member pays fine tribute to classic rock’n’roll and shows off his exceptional voice. As commented by Rolling Stone magazine: "Harry Styles is a true rock star on superb solo debut." The record also tops this week’s Official Vinyl Albums Chart, with just over 3,000 copies on the format sold.

Days after the album release Styles unveiled ‘Behind The Album’ a fly on the wall documentary on Apple Music which featured fellow UMPG producer Jeff Bhasker and UMPG songwriter Kid Harpoon who both contributed to the album.

Jeff Bhasker is best known for his award-winning work with alternative group Fun on their smash breakthrough 'Some Nights' which netted him the Grammy for Song of the Year for ‘We Are Young’. Bhasker is credited as the executive producer on Styles' album. Kid Harpoon is an English singer/songwriter born Thomas Hull whose recent credits include several co-writes for Florence + the Machine, including collaborating with Florence and Calvin Harris on Harris' ‘Sweet Nothing’ single.

Styles announced his first solo tour last month. The UK leg kicks off in London with two dates at Hammersmith's Eventim Apollo from October 29-30, moving on to O2 Apollo Manchester on November 1 and winding up at Glasgow's SEC Armadillo on November 2.
