Dua Lipa (Tap Publishing) lands five nominations for The Brits – a record for a female artist and the most for any artist in 2018 including ‘British Breakthrough Act’, ‘British Album of the Year’ for her self-titled debut album and ‘British Female Solo Artist’ alongside Jessie Ware and Paloma Faith.
UMPG also have interest in six of the nine nominations for 'Best British Single', Calvin Harris feat. Pharrell Williams/Katy Perry/Big Sean’s ‘Feels’ (Anderson), Clean Bandit feat. Zara Larsson’s ‘Symphony’ (Mac), Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’ (Mac), Jax Jones feat. Raye’s ‘You Don’t Know Me’ (Bennett), Jonas Blue feat. William Singe’s ‘Mama’ (Robin) and Liam Payne feat. Quavo’s ‘Strip That Down’ (Mac/Marshall).
The xx have been nominated for 'Best British Group', HAIM and The Killers are up for 'Best International Group', whilst Childish Gambino is nominated for 'Best International Male Solo Artist'.
There are nods also for our songwriters involved in 'Album Of The Year' nominee ‘Ed Sheeran’s ‘÷’ (Mac/Levin/Ware/Abiona) and Rag N Bone Man’s ‘Human’ (Priddy/Jackson) and six 'British Artist Video Of The Year' nominees, including Harry Styles.
Steve Mac will pick up The BRIT Award 2018 for Best British Producer at The BRITs show on Wednesday 21 February at The O2, London.
