UMPG signs Johnnie Moylett to global administration deal

Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), a leading global publishing company, today announced that legendary Irish keyboardist Johnnie Moylett (AKA Johnnie Fingers) has signed a global administration deal.

A founding member of The Boomtown Rats, Johnnie is known for his signature look of striped pyjamas on stage, and his signature piano style. Coming from a family of actors, artists and musicians, Johnnie’s entry into the world was inevitable and, having learned the piano from a young age, he formed The Boomtown Rats in Ireland in 1975. The group went on to have a series of hits between 1977 and 1985.

Following the breakup of the band, he went on to form Gung~Ho with Simon Crowe and Yoko Kurokawa in 1987.

With The Boomtown Rats, Johnnie penned massive hits like ‘I Don’t Like Mondays’ and punk favourite ‘She’s So Modern,’ as well as tracks from several classic Rats albums. The catalogue also includes tracks from Gung~Ho such as ‘Burnin’ Out’, and ‘Play to Win.’

We’re thrilled to have Johnnie as a new addition to the UMPG roster.
