The A&R Awards in association with Abbey Road Studios will return to London on 5 November 2019.
Fred Gibson (aka FRED), Chris Andoh and Steve Mac have been nominated for ‘Producer of the Year’ – supported by Abbey Road Studios. FRED is nominated following an incredible year that has seen him work with the likes of Ed Sheeran, BTS and Charli XCX; Chris Andoh’s nomination comes after a huge production credit on Stormzy’s ‘Vossi Bop’ – which he also co-wrote; and Steve Mac celebrates a year of production credits including Tom Walker’s ‘What A Time To Be Alive’ and Ed Sheeran’s ‘No.6 Collaborations Project’.
Fred Gibson and Steve Mac have both been nominated for ‘Songwriter of the Year’ – supported by Downtown. FRED’s 2019 has seen him co-write multiple songs on Ed Sheeran’s ‘No.6 Collaborations Project’, Stefflon Don’s ‘Phone Down’ and ‘Breathe’ from Jax Jones’ album ‘Snacks.’ Steve Mac found himself dominating the Billboard Dance/Electronic charts, hitting 10 weeks in the charts with co-writes on ‘Happier’ (Bastille), ‘Here With Me’ (Chvrches) and ‘Harder’ (Jax Jones).
Rounding off the nominations UMPG A&R Pete Simmons has been nominated for A&R of the Year: Electronic/Dance, and finally, Universal Music Publishing is up for Publisher of the Year.
