UMPG writers shine in 2020 Brit Award nominations

Harry Styles, Coldplay, Burna Boy, Tom Walker and more saw UMPG represented in six of the eight categories. 

Harry Styles was nominated for Male Solo Artist, as well as Mastercard Album of the Year for his new release ‘Fine Line,’ co-written by Kid Harpoon

UMPG songwriters were further represented in the Album of the Year nominations, with co-writes on Stormzy’s chart-topping ‘Heavy Is The Head’ from Chris Andoh, Fred Gibson, Jay Weathers, Prgrshn, Headie One, H.E.R, Burna Boy and 6IXVI.

UMPG had interest in seven of the ten nominations for Song of the Year, with:

Dave feat. Burna Boy - 'Location'
Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber - 'I Don't Care' (co-written by Fred Gibson)
Mabel - 'Don't Call Me Up' (co-written by Steve Mac)
Stormzy - 'Vossi Bop' (co-written by Chris Andoh and 6IXVI)
Tom Walker - 'Just You and I'
AJ Tracey – ‘Ladbroke Grove’ (co-written by Felix Joseph)

Elsewhere, Bastille and Coldplay are up for Best Group, and Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish are both nominated for International Female Solo Artist. UMPG commanded the International Male Solo Artist category, with Bruce Springsteen, Burna Boy, Dermot Kennedy (Tap Music) and Post Malone all in the running for the award.
