The nominations for this year’s Ivor Novello awards have been announced, with UMPG representing 15 songwriters nominated across eight categories. 

Following the announcement of the Rising Star nominees earlier this month, including UMPG’s Holly Humberstone, The Ivors have revealed the rest of the 2021 nominees.
 
Three UMPG writers are nominated for Best Album, with ‘Lianna La Havas’ by Lianne La Havas (co-written by Matthew Hales, ‘Send Them To Coventry’ by Pa Salieu (co-written by Felix Joseph), and ‘What Kinda Music by Tom Misch + Yussef Dayes (co-written by Tom Misch). 

Felix Joseph has a second nomination for Best Contemporary Song for his work on ‘Energy’ by Pa Salieu feat Mahalia, while For Those I Love is also up for Best Contemporary song with ‘Top Scheme’. 

In the Best Song Musically and Lyrically category, UMPG represent Headie One and Fred Gibson, who are nominated for co-writing ‘GANG’ by Headie One & Fred Again.., and Barney Lister, nominated for co-writing ‘God’s Own Children’ by Obongjayar.  

Best Original Film Score sees Adam Janota Bzowski nominated for composing ‘Saint Maud’ and Anne Nikitin nominated for 'Four Kids and It', while Alex Heffes is up for Best Television Soundtrack with 'A Suitable Boy'. 

In PRS for Music Most Performed Work Harry Styles and Kid Harpoon received a nomination for co-writing 'Adore You', and Styles, Kid Harpoon and Mitch Rowland received a nomination for co-writing ‘Watermelon Sugar’. Harry Styles and Kid Harpoon have also received a joint nomination for the prestigious Songwriter Of The Year.
