Griff, Little Simz, Holly Humberstone and CHVRCHES & Robert Smith were among the winners at the 2022 NME Awards.
Receiving their pre-announced awards, Halsey accepted the Innovation Award and Griff accepted the NME Radar Award. Griff received a second award on the night with Best Collaboration for her 'Head on Fire' with Sigrid.
CHVRCHES and The Cure's Robert Smith accepted Best Song By A UK Artist for their collaboration 'How Not To Drown,' while Best Song by an Australian Artist went to The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber for 'Stay' (co-written by Omer Fedi and Blake Slatkin). In the solo act categories, Little Simz was awarded Best Solo Act in the UK, with Burna Boy taking home Best Solo Act in the World.
Other awards from the night include Best Mixtape for Holly Humberstone's 'The Walls Are Way Too Thin' (co-written by Rob Milton), and Best Live Act for Rina Sawayama. Taylor Swift's 'Red (Taylor's Version)' was named Best Reissue, and Amyl and the Sniffers took home the accolade for Best Band from Australia.
During the night there were performances by Rina Sawayama, Griff, and CHVRCHES & Robert Smith, who, alongside 'How Not To Drown', performed a special rendition of The Cure's classic 'Just Like Heaven'.
