The latest commercial for the Volkswagen Atlas features Doris Day’s recording of Irving Berlin’s “It’s A Lovely Day Today”. 

The spot shows a man who goes about his day being one of “those guys” – slamming the door in his neighbor’s face, disturbing a couple in the park and then walking into the road whilst glued to his smartphone. The campaign aims to highlight that the Volkswagen Atlas “is built with safety in mind even for those guys”. 

“It’s A Lovely Day Today” was written by Irving Berlin as part of his successful musical Call Me Madam (1950), and Doris Day released her version the same year.
