Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) announced today that Olga Cardona has been promoted to Vice President, Administration and Marketing, Latin Music. Based in Miami, Cardona will continue reporting to Alexandra Lioutikoff, UMPG President for Latin America and U.S. Latin.

A respected industry veteran, Cardona joined UMPG in 2007 through the acquisition of BMG Music Publishing. She has also managed catalogs for top talent including Juan Luis Guerra, Romeo Santos, J Balvin, Jorge Luis Piloto, and Rich Music Ltd, among many others.

In her expanded role, Cardona will oversee administration and marketing in Latin America and be responsible for driving increased exposure of UMPG’s Latin songwriter roster on social channels. She will also work closely with the company’s Global Administration team in Nashville, as well as with UMPG’s North American and European Marketing teams.

“Olga’s passion for administration is invaluable,” said Lioutikoff. “I’ve known her for a long time and her vast experience and outstanding dedication make her an integral asset to our team. I couldn’t be prouder of her achievements and look forward to her continued success.”

“With the global growth of Latin music, our ability to maximize opportunities and revenue for our Latin clients is greater than ever. Under Alexandra’s leadership, UMPG Latin has thrived and I’m so proud to reach this stage of my career as part of her team. I look forward to creating new opportunities for our songwriters while working closely with our global team,” said Cardona.

Prior to UMPG, Cardona served as the first-ever Director of U.S. Latin Operations at BMG Music Publishing. In her eight years with the company, she oversaw artist relations for Juan Gabriel, El General, and Ilegales. Cardona began her music career at SESAC in New York, rising through the ranks to become SESAC Latina’s first-ever Director of Writer Publisher Relations. In this role, she oversaw the catalogs of artists such as Marco Antonio Solis, KC Porter, Fonovisa and Omar Alfanno. She also produced the first two editions of the SESAC Latina Music Awards.

Cardona is a member of the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences; the Songwriters Hall of Fame; Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame; She Is The Music; NAFE and serves as the Vice Chair of Membership for Women in Music’s Miami chapter. She holds a Master’s degree in Music Business and Entertainment Industries from University of Miami’s Frost School of Music.
