De Dijk

Formed in 1981 by brothers Huub and Hans van der Lubbe and friend Daniel Derks. De Dijk is named after a famous street in their hometown Amsterdam. The band is considered to be one of the most important Dutch bands of the past 30 years. They have built an impressive repertoire, which is a contagious mix of soul, blues and rock ‘n’ roll.

The band's 1982 debut record, De Dijk, was an enormous success. They toured and recorded regularly throughout the late '80s and '90s, becoming one of the most important rock innovators in Dutch history. Their poetic lyrics, written by Huub van der Lubbe, influenced an entire generation of European musicians. In 2006 the band played a show honoring their 25th anniversary at the Rotterdam Ahoy Theatre. That same year they made their first appearance on Billboard charts with their record 'Zullen We Dansen', which placed in the European Top 100 category.
